    Accell

Eurobike

European production expertise

It’s not by coincidence that the newcomers’ e-bike business manager, Wayne Jia, stepped over from Tenways to lead Navee’s go-to-market strategy and is now responsible for growth across the Benelux markets. Like Tenways, Navee is looking to utilise a European supply chain through its Dutch-registered subsidiary in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. “We will assemble our bikes in Portugal and Poland and all according to European regulations,” Jia confirmed to Bike Europe. “The bikes will be dispatched from our Dutch warehouse. In the beginning, we will use third-party service suppliers. In time, we will build our own dedicated team for e-bikes.”

Strong financial backing

The Navee brand, founded in 2021 by the Suzhou Brightway Intelligent Technology Company, is dedicated to urban and outdoor transportation through innovative technology and user-centred design. Best known for its premium electric scooters, where it ranks among the top three premium electric scooter brands in Europe, Navee is strategically expanding into a wider ecosystem of intelligent mobility solutions. The company is also linked to Dreame, a Chinese giant in the world of smart home appliances. “We are financially very strong,” Jia confirmed to Bike Europe.
Calling itself a global outdoor smart mobility brand, Navee’s launch event at Motorworld Munich unveiled its complete e-bike family to industry partners, media and key stakeholders.

Most interesting, and bringing in a new level of competition for established brands like Stromer, Reise & Müller and Klever, Navee is adding two speed-pedelecs to its range at price points lower than the aforementioned brands. This will mark the first speed-pedelecs in Europe for a Chinese brand. Jia confirmed that these will be positioned in established markets like Germany, Switzerland and Belgium.

German industry rivals Eurobike with launch of international trade fair

The debate around Eurobike has entered a new phase since German industry organisations announced they will organise "a leading international trade show" in 2027. This decision stems from a dispute between the Eurobike organiser, Fairnamic, and the German industry organisations ZIV, Zukunft Fahrrad and VSF. This latest strategic move suggests a potential return to a dual-tradeshow landscape for Europe, reminiscent of the pre-2008 era when IFMA Cologne and Eurobike operated alongside each other.

Navee is latest Chinese newcomer to enter mid-price e-bike segment in Europe

Navee, best known in European and US markets for its premium e-scooters, has taken a significant step into the European e-bike market. An official launch event on 1 April in Munich, Germany, marked the Chinese mobility brand's "pedalling" debut in Europe, where it aims to compete in the mid-price segment with its speed-pedelec, e-bike and cargobike solutions. Bike Europe spoke to the company at the Taipei Cycle Show to find out more.

Product is not the problem, maximise margins with merchandising

Ask ten people in a bike brand how profitable their assortment is, and you will get ten different answers. Ask the product manager and she will point to margin per unit. Ask the supply chain lead and he will talk about complexity cost. Ask the retailer, and the conversation shifts entirely to sell-through and floor turns. Everyone is right. Everyone is also looking at a different piece of the value chain. And because no one has agreed on a shared picture, the product line keeps growing — SKU by SKU, season by season — until it takes an AI chatbot to explain the difference between two models to a confused customer at home.

Why US tariffs are becoming a fixed cost for EU importers

The United States Supreme Court decision to strike down US President Donald Trump's tariffs, followed by his swift executive order to implement new 10% tariffs, has thrown the global bicycle industry into disarray. In the wake of this political jockeying for control over imports and the billions of dollars they represent, European Union bike importers now face a complicated legal process to recover what they lost to the now-defunct IEEPA (International Emergency Economic Powers Act) tariffs.
